A parallel to the null ideal for inaccessible λ: Part I

چکیده

It is well known to generalize the meagre ideal replacing ℵ 0 by a (regular) cardinal λ > ℵ 0 and requiring the ideal to be λ +-complete. But can we generalize the null ideal? In terms of forcing, this means finding a forcing notion similar to the random real forcing, replacing ℵ 0 by λ, so requiring it to be (< λ)-complete. Of course, we would welcome additional properties generalizing the ones of the random real forcing. Returning to the ideal (instead of forcing) we may look at the Boolean Algebra of λ-Borel sets modulo the ideal. Surprisingly we get a positive = existence answer for λ a " mild " large cardinal: the weakly compact one. We apply this to get consistency results on cardinal invariants for such λ's. We shall deal with other cardinals more properties related forcing notions in a continuation.

Contour Crafting Process Plan Optimization Part II: Multi–Machine Cases

Contour Crafting is an emerging technology that uses robotics to construct free form building structures by repeatedly laying down layers of material such as concrete. The Contour Crafting technology scales up automated additive fabrication from building small industrial parts to constructing buildings. Tool path planning and optimization for Contour Crafting benefit the technology by increasin...

A. We present a method to iterate finitely splitting lim-sup tree forcings along non-wellfounded linear orders. We apply this method to construct a forcing (without using an inaccessible or amalgamation) that makes all definable sets of reals measurable with respect to a certain (non-ccc) ideal. 1. On squares , outside guessing of clubs

Suppose that λ = μ+ and μ is singular. We consider two aspects of the square property on subsets of λ. First, we have results which show e.g. that for א0 < κ = cf(κ) < μ, the equality cf([μ]≤κ,⊆) = μ is a sufficient condition for the set of elements of λ whose cofinality is ≤ κ to be split into the union of μ sets with squares. Secondly, we introduce a certain weak version of the square propert...

Fat sets and saturated ideals

We strengthen a theorem of Gitik and Shelah [6] by showing that if κ is either weakly inaccessible or the successor of a singular cardinal and S is a stationary subset of κ such that NSκ S is saturated then κ \S is fat. Using this theorem we derive some results about the existence of fat stationary sets. We then strengthen some results due to Baumgartner and Taylor [2], showing in particular th...

Compact Lossy Inductance Simulators With Electronic Control

In this paper two R‑L network simulator configurations employing a single VDDIBA, one resistance and one grounded capacitance are presented. The first configuration is a grounded series resistor-inductor (R‑L) network simulator and the second configuration is intended for grounded parallel resister-inductor (R‑L) circuit simulation. Both the proposed circuits enjoy several beneficial features s...
